The Best Rule about What Should (and Shouldn’t) Be on Your Desk

I’m always looking for little tidbits that bring big returns, and here is a really good one:

If you use it every day, then it should be on your desk. That means that if you don’t use it every day, it should be out of sight. Filed away. Trashed. In a box.

The more clutter you have on your desk (and in your life, for that matter)  the less productive you may be. So take stock. For one full day, note what you use and don’t use. And if you don’t use it… well… you know what to do!

PS. I guess I have some work to do on this too!

  1. Quick and to the point – good tip! That little family snapshot on my desk – I use when I look at it for smiles : )
