How to Sell Yourself without Selling Yourself Out #8 – Visibility Works!

Selling yourself does not necessarily mean that you have to actively tell other people how good you are or how you can help them. Let them see it for themselves.

Your visibility can be even more powerful than you trying to sell someone on why they should work with you or buy your service.

And it is easier.

Being visible can happen in many ways. Consider how prospective clients or people in your company can experience your quality work:

  • Do excellent work, work that can be noticed
  • Volunteer for less desired tasks
  • Volunteer quickly
  • Chair a committee
  • Write an article for your company’s newsletter
  • Show your interest or passion about a project
  • Attend after work business functions
  • Help people with their projects
  • Show up on time, or preferably 5 minutes before meetings
  • Join and participate energetically in an organization that relates to your interests or passions

It’s not about what you say, it is about what you do, and who sees you doing it. Think about that…
