Leaders Share the Load…

Whether you’re the leader of a company, the manager of a small group for a given project, or the head of your household – you can lead even more effectively when you share the load with those around you.

The most effective of leaders in any trade are the people who understand that they can get more good work done by involving others.

Isn’t that what we mean by leading? You can’t lead without followers, right?

Then why do sooooo many managers do sooooo much by themselves? One reason is that they have a hard time “letting go.”

True, letting go can be a challenge. When you involve others by delegating, the work most likely won’t be done exactly the way you would have done it. But why would you want to clone yourself anyway???!!!

Let’s face it, you can be pretty sure that it won’t always be YOUR way! By embracing diversity of thought, you’re going to come up with new and different solutions.

I remember so many times when I was in corporate America… when that I was happily and pleasantly surprised when people did a more creative or more thorough job than I would have. I’m sure you can think of those times too.

This is called sharing the load. Why burden yourself with all of it?
